In Brief:

The main point of this trip was an SRT training session, while here we thought it would be a great opportunity to get some good photos for the lottery people to prove that we've used their grant wisely.

Ali set off rigging the SRT pitch's, one big one up the quarry face with a couple of deviations in it and ropes in a tree for basic SRT training.

Meanwhile I got a few photographs of the rest of the gang in the mouth of a cave [are-hem, well a kind of alcove at the bottom of the cut-crop actually which seems to have been used as some kids den recently! ].

Details:

Back to the quarry and after Patrick had showed off a bit going up the big pitch and down again at speed, while Rup hung around with the drill, just managing to suppress his schoolboys grin for the camera!

Ali did some basic SRT training with Hannah (a friend and work mate of Rup's) who is new to the "PLEARSURSES" of caving.

Now photo shoot over it's my turn for a bash at the big pitch, all went fine till just below the fist deviation when my hand jammer [well jammed a bit more securely than it should] leaving me stuck on the rope, but after a quick changeover and prizing my jammer off the rope I got back down ok.

My jammer [my own not the clubs I should add] seemed to work just fine back on terra-firma under the scrutiny from Ali and pretty much everyone else, just a freak it seems.

By this time the light was going so all retired to a local hostelry, a good evening was had by all.

Thanks to Ali for the SRT, The Rock Centre for the use of their facility and everyone else for just coming along!

Thanks to Tom TL [AKA Tom the Stick] for supplying this write up
