In Brief: This was the second trip of the day, a short distance from the last site, we found a set of concrete ring protruding from the ground. After unlocking the chain, the steel plate and grill were removed from the rings. Ali rigged a set of ladders, and we were soon climbing down the shaft. Once down we carried on along the level which lead out under the road until it ended in a blockage. Retracing our steps back towards the track, we noticed another passage leading back into the hill. This was followed until the roof met the floor. There was a small side passage that was explored for a short distance. We then retraced our steps back to the shaft and climbed the ladders back out. Once on surface we locked up and walked back to the Belfrey. |
