In Brief:

This was to have been a Bellan trip, but due to a extensive survey being undertaken, we diverted to look at some of the mines and adits in the cliffs on the North Cornish cost. After scrambling down over some very exposed rock faces,  lead by Ali who had visited many years previous, three of us managed to reach the adit portal. This was to be a short trip into the side of the rock face up the adit to the point of a blockage where the adit meets the shaft. The adit, of generous proportion, allowed for an easy walk in without having to stoop to much.

Continued:

A short way in at a point where the was a slight kick in the adit, was found the remains of two old kibbles and some tramming rail. There was also some evidence of the remains of wooden sleepers still in the floor supporting the tramming theory.

A short distance further in we encountered an area of stopped out ground with some rock that had fallen. With an easy scrabble over the rocks we encountered the point at which water was cascading into the adit , this was assumed to have been the run in shaft.

After retracing our tracks, it was a long climb back up the cliffs to Rosemergy Mine.
