In Brief:

This the second trip for the evening saw four of us off to a wet adit somewhere on Dartmoor.

Mark and I set off from Plymouth and met up with Hugh and Trish on the moor, after a quick change we were soon of up the hill to the adit portal. After pondering over the water, we were off up the adit wading through chest deep  crystal clear cold water. A short distance in passing through a curtain of water falling from a fault in the adit roof, a good spot for a photo shoot.

Continued:

As we proceeded further into the adit, the water level started to recede as the floor of the adit was on a slight incline, soon we were walking on the dry floor between the old rails.

Soon we found our selves  in the top of a stoped  area, with the flooded workings falling away to the right below our feet. This was another good area for a photo shoot, with Neil the Flash Monkey holding the flashguns in the water.

A short distance further and the end of the drive was found, at this point Trish produced a birthday cake in calibration of her birthday the next day.

Soon it was time to retrace our footsteps back out through the mine pausing to take more photos on the way, Once out it was a brisk walk back to the cars through the crispy grass, the icy air stinging our wet skin.

After a quick change it was off to the local for a quick pint, and a warm up in front of the fire.
